Thermal Bath
The thermal bath of Hajdúszoboszló is the first establishment of the bath complex. On July 26, 1927, it is opening its doors and is visited also today.
In 1925 Dr. Pávai Vajna Ferenc a very famous Hungarian geologist discovers the hot spring.
In the beginning, indeed the institution was fit for bathing only. Later the scientific tests of the thermal water confirmed it’s a unique composition. As a result of many initiatives the future of curing under medical supervision was built.
„The water of Hajduszoboszlo is unique in its class. Waters of similar composition and temperature are unknown”.
– Dr. János Bodnár (1889-1953) chemical professor.
„The water of Hajduszoboszlo can be considered to be five times diluted seawater and it is nothing else, but the recalled ghost of the sea of the Triassic Age”.
– Dr. Zoltán Dalmady (1880-1934).
Since the first opening of the open-air bath in 1927 the spa past through important changes. In addition, continuous developments were carried out. Therefore now it has three covered pools with different water temperatures.
More than that in the open-air are four additional pools equipped with specific hydromassage facilities. As a result of the reconstruction in 2002, the building was fully renewed. In conclusion, the spa, the extension of the therapy rooms and the resting places offers the perfect environment for full relaxation and recuperation.
Furthermore, test results show that the water contains the largest quantity of sodium chloride which is commonly called kitchen salt and ammonium-chloride called “salmiac”. Also, additional components include bromine and iodine, carbonates, nitrates and other chemical elements like lithium, iron, and magnesium.
In the spa of Hajdúszoboszló, the guests can also have in addition to bath treatments 40 different therapies.
The most popular therapeutic procedures are bath therapy, mud packing, weight bath, and tangential underwater massage treatment so all these combined will lead to amazing results.
The different massaging methods applied by the massage therapists further improve the efficiency of the above-mentioned treatments.
